How I Got My Music Heard on TV: Sync Licensing

Writer's picture: silasbeatssilasbeats

Ever turned on the TV and thought, "What if that were my music playing?" Well, for me, that dream has become a reality—and it’s surreal.

It didn’t happen overnight. It took months of dedication, working closely with publishers, understanding what they need, and consistently creating music that stands out. But now, I can confidently say that persistence pays off.

Within an hour of flipping through channels, I might hear one of my tracks—proof that building a catalog and staying consistent truly works.

For Anyone Starting Out with Sync Licensing:

Here are some key tips that worked for me:

1️⃣ Get Your Tracks Out There

Your music won’t get placed if no one knows it exists. Submit your work to reputable publishers and sync libraries.

2️⃣ Understand What Publishers Want

Research and align your music with the needs of publishers and supervisors. Each has its preferences, so tailor your submissions accordingly.

3️⃣ Stay Consistent

Building a sync career is a long game. Even when progress feels slow, keep pushing forward—you never know when your breakthrough moment will come.

Sync Licensing Is More Than a Dream

It’s a real, sustainable path to getting your music featured in TV shows, films, ads, and more.

Seeing the results firsthand has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my music career.
