How I Got My First Fiverr Orders

When I first joined Fiverr, nothing happened.

No orders. No inquiries. Just silence.

For weeks, I watched others rack up gigs while I sat there refreshing my page, wondering what I was doing wrong.

But then, I made three small shifts and those changed everything.

1. I Stopped Trying to Be Everything

At first, I just listed myself as a voiceover artist. But so do thousands of other people.

So I got specific.

Instead of saying “I do voiceovers,”

I rebranded myself as someone who does African-accented explainer voiceovers with fast turnaround.

That simple niche helped me stand out to the clients who were actually looking for exactly that.

People aren’t always searching for a generalist. They're often looking for someone who solves a specific problem or fits a unique style.

The clearer your offering, the easier it is for people to find and book you.

2. I Made Fast Delivery My Signature

I promised 24-hour delivery. But I often delivered in less than 10 hours.

And that made a huge difference.

Clients aren’t just looking for quality; they’re looking for reliability and speed. When someone knows they can count on you to deliver quickly and professionally, they come back. Fast.

This is what helped me get multiple 5-star reviews in a row.

That momentum mattered. The Fiverr algorithm noticed. And real people did too.

3. I Overcommunicated (On Purpose)

Most freelancers hit “Deliver” and disappear.

I did the opposite.

  • I sent messages confirming I got the brief.

  • I gave updates during the process.

  • I thanked clients for their trust before and after delivery.

This wasn’t just good manners. It built trust.

Clients never had to guess if I was working on their project or if I’d vanished.

That small effort made a huge impact and it kept people coming back.

The Truth About Getting Your First Fiverr Orders

You don’t need a studio full of expensive gear or a secret Fiverr hack to start getting orders.

You need:

  • Clarity in what you offer

  • Consistency in how you deliver

  • Momentum by showing up like a pro every single time

Don’t waste time trying to game the system.

Just be excellent in plain sight.

That’s how I broke through the Fiverr noise, and how you can too.
